Interesting, I have NEVER had weird purple lips by the end of a wine tasting! Which makes me wonder if you are tasting quality wine! But, here's a thought, alternate your red wines with white. And, you might want to see if your lips are dry and porous, so lube them up with some chapstick before you go.
You shouldn't wear lipstick or perfume when you are wine tasting. It will mar the taste. When you are at a restaurant try blotting you lips before you sip or wear a lip balm.
drink with one lip under the rim of the glass and open your mouth so that the wine slides in without toushing your lips!

I started drinking three 16 oz. glasses everyday, morning, noon and night just like it was medicine. Personally my lips don't like most chapsticks because they just seem to stick to the surface, whereas putting a bit of good moisturiser on them helps them stay hydrated and plump.
I'm no glamour, but I often get complimented on my lips and kissing ;)

The doc gave me a refill and I needed a few months later.. as the infection returned. Just super dry lips that would not get better.. I also did alot of research online and found that we tend to lick them subcontioustly when they are beginning to get chapped or sore and the licking makes it worse fast.. so try and pay attention to if you are licking or keeping them wet , they need to stay dry to heal up.
Nothing over the counter worked.. I tried it all..

It can be from windburn, sunburn and/or licking them too much. Drink more fluids as your body could be dehydrated. Also, use something like a medicated lip salve like Blistex to help to moisten them up again. Try not to lick them, coz that will make them worse.
Usually we get sore cracked lips during the winter months. Don't use petroleum based lipbalm as it doesn't let your lips breathe. Use one that uses beeswax or vegetable oil. Even use a little bit of honey as it draw moisture from the air.
It can be also a vitamin B deficiency but only if you are not having a healthy diet.
Mine become sore in the cold weather. Use a lip salve it'll help.

It can be from windburn, sunburn and/or licking them too much. Drink more fluids as your body could be dehydrated. Also, use something like a medicated lip salve like Blistex to help to moisten them up again. Try not to lick them, coz that will make them worse.
Usually we get sore cracked lips during the winter months. Don't use petroleum based lipbalm as it doesn't let your lips breathe. Use one that uses beeswax or vegetable oil. Even use a little bit of honey as it draw moisture from the air.
It can be also a vitamin B deficiency but only if you are not having a healthy diet.
Mine become sore in the cold weather. Use a lip salve it'll help.

My dog has always scratched her lips with her front paws since she was a puppy, sometimes to the point of making her cry. It's doing damage to her lips and it's really aggravating to her. firstly girl, make a lip scrub out of a lot of sugar and some conola oil until it gets thick but all the sugar is covered, then rub that allll over your lips sorta gently with presure until the flakyness of the chapped lips is gone, then rinse off with WARM to HOTT water, then once your lips are all better and soft put on alot of Blistex DCT daily conditioning treatment, its in a pink little lip pot that you can get at like CVS. works amazing! do the scrub like once a day to keep them good!
hey if your lips are really chapped, im guessing you might not want to use a scrub... try this... before you go to sleep, put some vaseline on your lips and leave it on for about 3 min. this will lift up the dry skin. then use a washcloth to gently rub it off (you can wet the cloth with warm water if you want to) then apply a moisturizing lip balm, i use BURT'S BEES (replenishing lip balm with pomegranate oil). do this every night until your lips are better and just reapply the lip balm thoughout the day as needed.
oh, and when your lips are better, take that one girls advice and use some VICKS... that stuff is awesome!!

I heard olive oil is a great thing for chapped lips. I am considering trying it out but I have no idea how to apply it onto my lips. The symptoms for everything but he cherries were the same. The cherries gave me a stomach ache a hour after and my body started to itch, my palms of my hands, ears. Still today my hands are numb. My belief is it is the chemicals during the farming process. my allergist said she had never heard anyone being allergic to bannana's.

The baking soda helps to absorb the acid in the fruit.

One even fooled me, she's completly deaf now, but I didn't even know she was deaf because she could read my lips so well! How long does it take for sunburned lips to heal?
I started to get it on Tuesday ( April 28, 2009 ) and today is Friday ( May 1, 2009 ) I know for a fact i have sunburned lips, and they are all red and sore. Ive been using blistex with spf. 15 multiple times daily. If you were to estimate when this pain would end, what would be the date/weekday? Help!!!How long does it take for sunburned lips to heal?

The weather the past couple of days has gotten colder and windier and so my lips are a little dry/cracked. Well tonight my friend is coming over as well as the two guys we like and are kinda dating...I want to have soft lips just in case, so what should I do? I heard that if you brush a toothbrush over them softly or something it works..? Buy a cheap, SOFT toothbrush and run it under warm water. Then gently scrub your lips until they feel smoother. NOW you can moisturize. TRY Burt's Bees Lip Balm from CVS. It's amazing and try to reapply it everytime before you go outside. You lips will be great in no time. Vaseline is petroleum and it blocks pores, and feels like it works at first but it ultimately dry out your lips! HOPE I helped!

almond oil, and even olive is is the BEST to condition and moisturise them, as for pots or sticks you can carry round, have a browse and look at the ingredients. anything including butters (shea, cocoa, almond) or oils is the best...try to avoid all petrolium jellies.
I would use the carmex that comes in the tube. not the tin or the stick. It has a better applicator and if you leave it on overnight they should be close to cured the next morning. Good luck!

Wet your lips with warm water to soften the skin. Take a wet toothbrush and gently exfoliate your lips by rubbing the bristles in a circular motion on your lips- this helps remove the dead skin. Wash away with warm water. There's no need to towel dry your lips since they will quickly just drink up the excess water- immediately afterwards, put on a nice soothing balm. Vaseline works just fine, Burt's Bees is another good one, I'm currently using Blistex Lip Medex balm- excellent (not too sticky, but very moisturizing) balm. Sleep, wake up in the morning and repeat procedure- keep applying lip balm as necessary and rubbing your lips together to ensure circulation and maintain moisture, so your lips don't dry out quickly.

I've had this for a while and it's really starting to make me wonder. I get bumps all over my lips and they burn, like they get hot and so far the only thing that helps get rid of them is Chapstick mousterizer but it takes a week for them to leave, I was thinking that it could be hives or something but I'm not sure. You are here for a limited time. SO serve this time in the way of Allah. So that you can be successful in your exam and can have your permanent life in heaven instead of hell.
Now a days Muslims do so many haram things. Like many muslims drink alcohol and eat pork also. So you will also copy them????

How do you get rid of dry lips?
I have tried alot to get rid of my dry lips. I tried vaseline, lips gloss and lip balm but it get more dry after 15-20 minutes. How can i get rid of my dry lips without it getting dry every 515 to 20 minutes?How do you get rid of dry lips?
wut u can do is get a wet washcloth and rub it on ur lips then put some vasoline on it but not TOO much jus so that it doesnt get chapped that should last awhile.How do you get rid of dry lips?

use a lip balm that doesn't contain petrolium jelly for example blistex (which works really well)

If your lips are constantly dry it could be due to the skin. When you brush your teeth, try using your tooth brush over your lips to get rid of any dry skin, then using vaseline or lip balm will have a better affect. Works for me!!!

drink more water.you need at least 1.5 litres a day.
i use chap stick maybe 15 times a day. i love the way it feels on my lips.. Just keep applying it. maybe if you use some over night.. it will help. some is better then others. i find the blistex gentle sense to work the best because it goes on realllly smooth

It sounds like you are dehydrated you should try drinking about 2 litres of water a day, not all together, and keep applying vaseline etc. Maybe you work or live in a very dry environment, if so you could try placing a bowl of water in the room.

WHATEVER YOU DO.........
DO NOT PUT VASELINE OR ANYTHING WITH PETROLATUM (ie petroleum jelly) ON YOUR LIPS!!!
Petrolateum...petrolatum...mineral oil = alcohol based!! Alcohol is drying, not moisturizing!!!
Find any chapstick or lip moisturizer that doesn't have petrolatum or petroleum and it will help your lips. Petroleum is alcohol based and while it feels good while it is on, it actually DRIES your lips out in the long run!
Also, jojoba or vitamin E or shea butter is awesome for moisturizing but hard to find in lip products. Just make sure to read the label or you could be doing more harm than good.
PS...Vitamin E is a natural SPF (sunscreen) and can help your lips stop from getting chapped again, but regular ';active ingredient'; sunscreens can dry you out worse....How can I get rid of chapped lips?

I have the same problem! I absolutely LOVE Burt's Beeswax chapstick, but I use the kind that has honey in it, not the minty kind. Honey naturally softens lips so I've found that chapsticks works way better than any one on the market. [It has yellow packaging!]
Also before I go to bed I use a ton of Vermont's Original Bag Balm. You can get it at a drugstore, it comes in a huge, square-shaped green tub and has red lettering and red flowers on it. It was originally designed to soothe cows dry, cracked udders after they had babies [kinda gross, huh?] but it works SO awesome on lips! Also, I recently found out that the company makes a smaller tub [great for purses!] of this stuff, but that ones harder to find!
Another great product is Bobbi Brown lip balm. It's really thick and stays on for hours! And I use Bath %26amp; Body Works Sugar Scrub Lip Treatment [it comes in a white tube with purple and black lettering and a black cap!] ... it gets off all of the dead skin so my lips are smooth when I apply lipbalm.
Carmex is the best lip balm, but prevention is everything; keep yourself as hydrated as possible. Drink lots of water and cut down on alcohol if you drink. Stay away from caffeinated beverages since caffeine is a diuretic (pushes water out of your system).
Carmex is by far the best medicated lip gloss for ANY lips. You can also feel it working (it may burn slightly, but not to the extreme)
Use any medicated chap stick. they work the fastest and the best. You can get them at a local CVS or Rite Aid. Or if you don't want to use that you can dry pure cocoa butter. It takes a bit longer to kick in but it works. you can get that at the local Beauty Supply Store.

Petrolateum...petrolatum...mineral oil = alcohol based!! Alcohol is drying, not moisturizing!!!
Find any chapstick or lip moisturizer that doesn't have petrolatum or petroleum and it will help your lips. Petroleum is alcohol based and while it feels good while it is on, it actually DRIES your lips out in the long run!
Also, jojoba or vitamin E or shea butter is awesome for moisturizing but hard to find in lip products. Just make sure to read the label or you could be doing more harm than good.
PS...Vitamin E is a natural SPF (sunscreen) and can help your lips stop from getting chapped again, but regular ';active ingredient'; sunscreens can dry you out worse....How can I get rid of chapped lips?

I have the same problem! I absolutely LOVE Burt's Beeswax chapstick, but I use the kind that has honey in it, not the minty kind. Honey naturally softens lips so I've found that chapsticks works way better than any one on the market. [It has yellow packaging!]
Also before I go to bed I use a ton of Vermont's Original Bag Balm. You can get it at a drugstore, it comes in a huge, square-shaped green tub and has red lettering and red flowers on it. It was originally designed to soothe cows dry, cracked udders after they had babies [kinda gross, huh?] but it works SO awesome on lips! Also, I recently found out that the company makes a smaller tub [great for purses!] of this stuff, but that ones harder to find!
Another great product is Bobbi Brown lip balm. It's really thick and stays on for hours! And I use Bath %26amp; Body Works Sugar Scrub Lip Treatment [it comes in a white tube with purple and black lettering and a black cap!] ... it gets off all of the dead skin so my lips are smooth when I apply lipbalm.
Carmex is the best lip balm, but prevention is everything; keep yourself as hydrated as possible. Drink lots of water and cut down on alcohol if you drink. Stay away from caffeinated beverages since caffeine is a diuretic (pushes water out of your system).
Carmex is by far the best medicated lip gloss for ANY lips. You can also feel it working (it may burn slightly, but not to the extreme)
Use any medicated chap stick. they work the fastest and the best. You can get them at a local CVS or Rite Aid. Or if you don't want to use that you can dry pure cocoa butter. It takes a bit longer to kick in but it works. you can get that at the local Beauty Supply Store.

This is what my friend does: get 2 shades of lipstick (one just barley deeper then the other) and some thick lip liner. line your lips shape, about 1/4 inch away from your actual lip, fill your lips with the lighter shade of lipstick, then fill in the space between your lips and the liner with the darker shade.

The cheapest, but best, thing that I've found for chronically chapped lips in petroleum jelly (Vaseline). It's a bit greasy, but just blot your lips with a tissue after applying. It instantly hydrates lips and keeps them protected from the elements. It also penetrates the lips to prevent them from chapping in the future. The best part is it looks and works like clear lip gloss- you can use it alone or even apply it over makeup.
First point: Make sure you're not using a ';medicated'; lip balm - those often have very irritating ingredients like menthol and camphor. Very bad. Instant chapping.
Second point: Lip glosses will never stay for very long on your lips due to their liquidy nature. It is something that will always need to be re-applied throughout the day.
The best thing I would recommend is to keep your lips moisturized with Vaseline at night, and during the day maybe try using a lip liner with the gloss.
You could try Clinique Superbalm or L'Oreal Colour Surge lip gloss.

I totally have the same problem...here's what I do outside of chap stick:
For temporary relief, wet a cloth and maybe microwave it just until it's warm, then hold it over your lips as long as possible, for example, while your watching TV or something. Not only is it incredibly soothing and relaxing, but for the next few hours your lips will be amazingly soft and moist (this is great if you're going out for just a few hours and want to make a good impression)
My mom always uses Vaseline on her lips and swears by it, but it burns and so I've never kept it on long enough to see. But she really seems to like it...
Also drink lots of water. This adds to overall hydration, and it works especially well if you hold the water in the cup to your lips for a second or two before you actually drink...doing this a few times a day really helps.
Of course, when you have chap stick apply it a lot...

dab a little bit of skin lotion, just a tiny bit on your lips, or a smidge of olive oil. I am a chapstick addict!! I have one everywhere just in case!! I am so sorry you are out!!
lick your lips because the siliva has healing agents wich can help and if it doesnt work hold a glass of water to your lips for a while and it is sure to help and if that doesnt work dont breath through your mouth because that will only make it worse hope i was any help

Also i wanted to add, i woman on here once gave me a lip for lip exfoliation, just put some vaseline on an old toothbrush (soft bristle) and massage your lips with it.

I use Yves Rocher: Les Plaisirs Nature nurishing balm in vanilla coco. They have stores everywhere with baskets of this stuff. You know those bright white stores with the green accents? It works for me and I had the most dry lips you've ever seen before I used it, all cracked and bloody.
I personally think that Carmax is the best lip product ever. It is for cold sores but it keeps you lips moisturized for many hours while keeping them looking a healthy glossy! Price is like $1.39 a tube and you can get it in either a squeeze pack or a original chap stick tube. Hope it helps!
