How do you change colour of lips nd hair etc in photos?

Hi I have noticed that many people are doing funky pics of themselves for e.g. changing the background to their pics grey then colouring their hair nd lips etc in red or another colour. Just wondered what software is there that allows you to do this, preferably free ;) Many ThanksHow do you change colour of lips nd hair etc in photos?
you need a photo software like photoshop... or paintshop pro... any photo editor that uses ';layers';.





The process is quite easy, but hard to explain in words... but I'll have a go...





First, load a colour photo. Next, add another layer on top (try to imagine placing a piece of transparent film over the original photo... anything you do on the film, does not affect the photo underneath).





Load the same photo onto this layer, then carefully trim around the bit you want to stay coloured. Remove everything but the coloured bits from the second layer.





Go back the first layer (original photo) and turn this layer into greyscale. Beacuase the second layer is on top, the colour bits will be unaffected.How do you change colour of lips nd hair etc in photos?
layer via cut using the free selector tool then adjust hue and saturation, change your background image to black and white leaving your cut copies in colour then flatten the layers. Maybe add a very small gaussian blur when you finish to hide any glaring editsi n the original image.
They probably used PS (photoshop)





Or GIMP - GIMP is a free image manipulation program :) google it x
i think its like paint shop pro , and other various professional editing programs .
