He is fine but we just wanted to identify the plant. It can get large, up to four feet. The stalks look ';juicy.'; It has leaves kind of like an Elephant Ear, they are large, it has a tall stalk that comes up in the middle of it with a white flower that sort of looks like a Calla Lily. Then when the flower goes, there is a cluster of reddish berries on the stem. Any ideas on what it is or how to identify it.How can I identify a plant? My son bit into one and his lips burned a little.?
This sounds like it could be Lysichiton americanus (Skunk Cabbage). Fully ingested at can be poisonous, and cause intense stomach pains and nausea. Keep a close eye on you son, and if in any doubt head to A%26amp;E with a sample of the plant (I might be wrong as no pic)How can I identify a plant? Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum)
Peace lily has large green leaves and produces dramatic white flowers. It contains calcium oxalates that can cause burning, itching, difficulty swallowing and vomiting if any part of the plant is ingested.
