When practicing the trumpet my lips get tired quickly?
Ive been playing trumpet for a while and have completed a certificate in performance, now im auditioning for another course. But im experincing a sore upper lip, i try not to press to much but im struggling to get through one of my pieces cos of the pressure on my lips.When practicing the trumpet my lips get tired quickly?
Unfortunately that's one of the hardest parts of brass instruments. All of us struggle with mouth soreness off and on. It DOES get better.
Try to lighten up on the pressure you're putting on the mouthpiece. Take your mouthpiece out and try to buzz the piece just on it alone. It takes GREAT ait pressure and speed, but you don't need to kill yourself. Make sure you're practicing every day, and after you play, buzz your lips out. If you are sore on the inside, use a mouthsore treatment (like for cankersores...it numbs it.) Take some ibuprofrin, and ice it down if it's REALLY paining you. The way to strengthen the lip is to stay at it.

Well, personally, I rub mine with baking soda on a washcloth to get rid of any dry flakes, then I massage in some lotion made for extremely dry skin (there's actually one formulated for fishermen in arctic conditions whose knuckles dry and crack from the cold; it's the best!). I avoid any lip glosses or lipsticks with harsh chemicals in them (which is most of them). I like Burt's Bees. It's the only brand I don;t have allergic reactions to.

i think it's called a lip stretcher . well at least that's what my ortho. told me lol . it might feel weird at first, but after a few mintues, you get used to it . it has to stay there the whole time as your ortho. is putting on your braces because it prevents your lips from touching your teeth . it's no big deal and is completly painless . good luck :)

I know this exercise that works....suck your lips (like when people do that move with there mouth for not saying a word) keep it for 10 seconds or more then release it...Don't tighten your teeth's on your lips just keep it light so your don't hurt you self. Try doing it 3 times a day for 10 or more sec..Hope this helps...I had the same problem but now i see some difference for the upper lip...Notice that the exercise includes both bottom and top lips.
put a little bit of cayenne pepper on your lip and leave it for a little then put the lipstick or gloss whatever on and still leave the pepper, it will burn a lil bit but it looks really sexy

I know this exercise that works....suck your lips (like when people do that move with there mouth for not saying a word) keep it for 10 seconds or more then release it...Don't tighten your teeth's on your lips just keep it light so your don't hurt you self. Try doing it 3 times a day for 10 or more sec..Hope this helps...I had the same problem but now i see some difference for the upper lip...Notice that the exercise includes both bottom and top lips.
put a little bit of cayenne pepper on your lip and leave it for a little then put the lipstick or gloss whatever on and still leave the pepper, it will burn a lil bit but it looks really sexy

How do you stop lips from chapping ?
My lips are almost always chapped unless I apply some lip balm regularly. How can I stop this from happening ? And I am living in a country which has warm and damp weather all year.How do you stop lips from chapping ?
Dry or chapped lips are one of the first signs of dehydration, so make sure that you are drinking lots of water. Try to literally double your water intake (plain water, not soda, tea, etc) for a few days and see if your lips improve. If so, more water is at least part of the solution.
You should also look closely at what you are putting on your lips.
You could be mildly allergic to one of the ingredients in your chapstick, which could cause the condition to be worse and not better. I have so many allergies, and I have noticed that some chapstick-type products cause my lips to be severly dry no matter how often I use them. If you suspect this could be the case, try some more natural products like those from Burt's Bees (I've seen them at Cracker Barrell recently). I have not used it myself, but have heard great things about it from others with this problem.
Or, you could be using a chapstick product that doesn't have enough moisturizer. You have to put something on your lips that moisturizes and locks the moisture in. If it doesn't do both of those things, it defeats the purpose. Vasoline-type products are a good barrier for locking moisture in, but remember you have to have moisture there in the first place to lock it in. If your lips are so dry that there isn't enough moisture there, then you put on a vasoline-type product, you're actually keeping moisture from going in.
Look for products that contain aloe (for its moisturizing and healing properties). That should provide some relief. I personally prefer Avon's Moisture Therapy Moisturizing Lip Treatment (that's what it says right on the tube) in the white tube with a blue lid. It works well for me. first off ure lips get addicted to lip balm so start using straight vasile and it should clear up... but my friend took her self ';off'; of all lip balm because ure lips get addicted theres a chemical in it for a drying agent and if u always use lip balm it is taking over. so use straight vasile and get back to me pls.

What prevents or lessens the occurance of coldsores on the lips?
My 11 year old son has coldsores every few weeks and they are huge and his lips swell up...real nasty. I have heard that a small-pox injection can help. Any ideas would be gratefully received. We apply Zovirax hourly on the first day and it seems to make no difference. We even put it on as soon as the tingling is felt.What prevents or lessens the occurance of coldsores on the lips?

I've recently read some really good techniques for dealing with dry lips. When you're in the shower, use a warm wet, and clean washcloth to rub off chapped skin from lips. When you get out of the shower use your favorite lip balm--or just plain old Vaseline--to give your lips a good conditioning.
Winter is a good time to keep several kinds of lip therapy handy--in your purse, by your bed.... My favorites are any kind of Carmex, and any thing by Burt's Bees. Both work well for me, and aren't as expensive as some products on the market.
You can also use your toothbrush to scrub dead skin from your lips. Lips should be damp, and the toothbrush dry. If you use an all day stay on lip product, it can be extra drying to lips so you need to apply lip conditioning treatment regularly. Winter weather really takes a toll on lips if you don't keep them moisturized.

Carmex is the best thing I have used. Alot of other lip balms just made my lips peel more and it would burn to apply them. With carmex, it soothes them and they don't hurt. I only started using carmex about 2 months ago and it is the best 96 cents I have spent!

Okay, I have the driest lips ever!
So here what I do, I put vaseline on my lips in the morning right after I brush my teeth and before getting dressed, then after I'm dressed and my hair is done, I blot it on a tissue, like lipstick almost, and I apply chapstick over it, then I take Neutrogena's Moisturizing lipgloss and put a light coat on, then layer it on my desired shinyness, depending on the outfit.
For olive skin, baby pink tones will work with your skin tone well, avoid nides for everyday, but once in a while you can work it.

So here what I do, I put vaseline on my lips in the morning right after I brush my teeth and before getting dressed, then after I'm dressed and my hair is done, I blot it on a tissue, like lipstick almost, and I apply chapstick over it, then I take Neutrogena's Moisturizing lipgloss and put a light coat on, then layer it on my desired shinyness, depending on the outfit.
For olive skin, baby pink tones will work with your skin tone well, avoid nides for everyday, but once in a while you can work it.

Or you could use Revlon's ColorStay Overtime Lipcolor in ';Bare Maximum.'; Than put some of the top coat on it, or a nude lipgloss like wet n wild's Mega Plump in ';Malibu-Peach.';
None of these brands test on animals.:)

Okay well use a nice color blush/dark bronzer. When you apply it go from your ear down to the apple part of your cheeks in a line. This well give shadow to your face. You may have to practice to get it right and experiment with shades of blush.
To make lips look wider there's a couple of tricks. First take a brown eyeshadow-no shimmer- and apply with your fingertip under the middle part of your bottom lip-this will make it appear you lip is full giving it shadow. Okay well use a nice color blush/dark bronzer. When you apply it go from your ear down to the apple part of your cheeks in a line. This well give shadow to your face. You may have to practice to get it right and experiment with shades of blush.

How do I get rid of the dryness and bring color back to the area around my lips?
For the past year the area around my lips have been seriously dry it looked like I had just got done eating a glazed donut. It got so bad to the point where I would rub away the dry skin and I would end up having cracks. It has gotten better since but it's still dry and not as bad as it was but now theirs a discoloration around my lips due to the dryness it's gotten completely white and with my skin being medium its completely noticable! What is so bad about kissing your family members on the lips?
I'm not talking about a french kiss because yeah than that would be gross. I'm only talking about a small peck, you know like when you greet somebody and give them a hug and a kiss? Well when I greet my family, I hug and give them a small kiss on the lips. I do it to my brothers, sisters, and parents. When like other people see me do it though, they make fun of me. They say stupid stuff like I'm trying to make out with my brother and other stupid crap like that. I mean I thought a greeting kiss was normal, why am I being made fun of when I do it?What is so bad about kissing your family members on the lips?

I know that this kinda weird question but i have a bad painful habit of biting my lips on the insides and outsides. I dont even relize im doing it until they are bleeding badly. When i am trying to focus on something or i get bored i just start chewing and i dont even know im doing it. They look white with pores on the bumps. I dont know if its a cold sore or something else. I tried to put medication on it and it didnt go away. It hurts when I open my mouth.

I was in a rodeo riding my horse April 25, 26, and 27. On Monday the 28 is when my lips started blistering and being painful. It has now been 8 days and i still have blisters and a little pain. Plus i have lots more rodeos coming up including this weekend and i dont want it to happen again. what is the best lip balm to use to prevent this.What can i use for 2nd degree sunburn on my lips?

I don't have extremely thin lips, but they're on the thinner side. I don't want them to look like I've been stung by a bee either - I just want them to be a little plumper. I don't want to shell out hundreds of dollars for injections either. okay, first coat your lips with honey like lipgloss,
this will make your lips softer, and easier to plump,
then after the honey wears off, not by licking it off though,
then after that, apply your regular makeup, make sure your blush is only thinly below the cheekbones, then your lips will look like they have more space.
after that wear a lipgloss that is lighter than your normal colour, which will make them blend into the skin more, making them look massive, or just wear super glossy lipgloss,
make sure you don't go outside your lips like many others have suggested, if you keep it inside of your lips, it'll avoid the whole 'look like a clown' thing.
also you can apply it to a little more than only your lips, get one or 2 millimeters past where you would usually gloss inside your mouth.

Another method is to brush your lips with a toothbrush for a few minutes.
