How to get rid of dead skin off of lips without exfoliating?

My lips are really dry and bright red. I don't like to exfoliate my lips because it hurts. But I don't want dead skin hanging off my lips.

I don麓t like exfoliating my lips either so I take my Labello lip balm (you can also use Vaseline or any other ';fat'; lip balms) and just put a LOT of it on my lips and leave it there for a few minutes. Then I take a cloth soaked in warm water and wipe it gently off. Really quick and easy :)How to get rid of dead skin off of lips without exfoliating?
I'd like to start by saying I'm not a medical doctor and I'm not responsible for any injuries that may occur while attempting this (particularly afterward). You should use caution when attempting anything new on or in your body.

Honestly, this problem can be a nuisance can't it? As a woman of colour with full luscious lips, I have to admit, I encounter the same problem occasionally. I'm not saying not to follow the others' advice, but, vaseline, chap stick and lip gloss just won't do the trick right away, or even at all. In fact, in my opinion, they can all add to the problem most of the time.

Firstly, one of the issues is definitely dehydration. This problem is the first indication that you're probably not getting enough fluids. Drink more water and/or fruit juices. I also recommend a multivitamin/mineral supplement be taken everyday.

Secondly, consider placing a cool-mist humidifier in your bedroom, it will do wonders year round, but particularly in the winter.

Thirdly, and I highly recommend doing this every day! Definitely exfoliate. Here's a great way that really works for me...while you're showering, take a facecloth, a tiny cup or bowl and some dead sea salt or regular sea salt, even regular table salt. Place the sea salt in the bowl, add some warm water and allow the salt to dissolve a bit in the water. Dip the facecloth into this and very gently, slough away the dead skin, until you're satisfied. The final touch is to find a really great lip treatment. The one I love is Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula ( I love the Dark Chocolate %26amp; Peppermint flavour) Lip Butter works better than all others, including vaseline. Petroleum Jelly is actually carcinogenic, so I don't understand why so many people are convinced it's the best thing for skin! Sadly, it's the base for most lip treatment products, even the one I just recommended. If you can find 100% pure African Shea Butter that's even better too! However, the lip butter is a great product. I usually do this after I brush my teeth in the shower and after I wash my face at night. I'm certain you'll be very pleased with the results. I hope this helps!

Peace and take care!
Take a shower/bath or soak your face in some warm water for a while to get your skin soft. After you dry off, put some moisturizing lip gloss or vasaline on your lips. Soon the dead skin will be really soft and just rub off if you rub your lips together. To keep them nice after that make sure you put on some more lip gloss after you wash face before bed. When you wake up they will be nice and smooth.
firstly, buy a good chapstick or vaseline or something! You need it badly.

Apply it on your lips and leave it till its all like gone, but your lips are stil soft. Then either use a towel and just gently rub your lips OR brush them with a toothbrush for a few mins everyday. BUT DONT FORGET THE CHAPSTICK/VASELINE!!!

You lips are flaking cos theyre dry , they need moisture! And try to drink more water too :D
try dabbing yoru finger in a little bit of vaseline and then dipping it in sugar then rubbing it on your lips for a couple seconds. the sugar doesnt hurt when you exfoliate and it tastes great!
Try using vaseline or a really thick lip balm.

Have you ever tried rubbing sugar along with some vaseline on your lips? It gets rid of dry skin and moisturizes at the same time.
i have the same problem all the time put on carmX (or any chapstick or lipgloss) before you go to bed then rub your face with a towel in the Morning but definitely need to drink more water
ya definately. just put some chapstik on it or vasaline. and it will get soft and then your good to go.
