I am pretty sure it is because when you do that face it makes you look skinnier and they think they look better.or maybe they just need a pose and no one can think of anything better to do
lol i know what you are talking about and i don't get it either and i am a girl myself but i don't pucker up for that.
well usually because it looks better on them, for example maybe they look better with puckered lips then they do with a regular smile, or maybe there head looks better with a peace sign next to it.
